We’ve been reporting on big tech deals with energy companies. But now, FERC has determined that Google is a Category 2 wholesale electricity seller in the PJM market—meaning it has surpassed 500MW in total generation capacity.
The trend: Amazon earned this designation back in 2025, and FERC is in the process of reviewing whether Microsoft qualifies as well.
