Data centers are major consumers of electricity—among the largest in the world.
In the United States, a very interesting trend has emerged: requiring new data centers to include their own on-site power generation.
The advantage is clear: it prevents congestion on the power grids that would otherwise be used if the data center were powered by the traditional utility system.
It also avoids the associated costs—often passed on to all grid users—for the infrastructure (the "wires") required to deliver that power, a situation that also applies in Brazil.
It would be both interesting and practical to consider this type of requirement for data centers in Brazil.
