Joe Weiss provides us with some valuable insights from his participation in cyber security war games at the US Naval War College. Here's one of his blog insights from the event:
"Control systems run the critical systems on which energy and finance (and other sectors) directly rely. Yet it’s easy to overlook the extent of cyber insecurity of these critical systems."
A lassie-faire attitude towards cybersecurity is the enemies best ally in their effort to cause harm to our critical infrastructure. I can easily imagine a conversation on 9/1/2001; "come on - nobody could stage a successful attack on the US with a box cutter and an airline ticket".
Better tools and automation are needed to prevent harm to these critical systems. Hopefully, people will take Joe's insights seriously.
