Investors are moving away from renewable hardware and to digital technology, according to Amy Francetic, founder and managing director of Energize Ventures, a Chicago-based VC investor focused on digital solutions. In the past three years, venture firms, incumbents and private equity raised more than $3 billion in new renewable energy-focused funds. Investments are being made in of digital technologies, like AI, so energy companies can take advantag of predictive analytics and gain real-time insights into asset operations.
