A computer error in the European Power Exchange (EPEX Spot) created a cautiounary wave among energy traders. In June, an unknown market participant apparently transmitted corrupt data that brought the trading server at EPEX down. Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Britain were decoupled from.the exchange and wild price fluctuations ensued. What is your impression about such vulnerabilities? What steps should be taken to prevent them?
