Energy Singularity - A new podcast looking at Blockchain in the Energy Industry ...

Kevin O'Donovan

When it comes to Blockchain technology in the Energy Industry, you may be a big believer or you may be a bit of a skeptic, but you have to admit Blockchain has been changing the conversation over the past few years.

On the new Event Horizon Podcast, Energy Singularity we're taking a realistic view as to what’s really going on …
Now we might have been a bit too hard on Peer-to-Peer in relation to the blockchain hype and the potential for Peer-to-Peer energy markets in the 1st episode... or were we?

For the full context on what Marzia Zafar, Scott Clavenna and I said, please do listen to full episode over on #iTunes at

And be sure to let us know if you agree or disagree with what was said ...

The energy and blockchain alliance seems to have constant headlines and evidence pushing and pulling in different directions, it's enough to make your head spin trying to come to a definitive conclusion. I wish I could peer a decade in the future to see what direction it went, but in the meantime I'm excited to give this episode a listen on my commute to work tomorrow. Thanks for sharing, Kevin

Thanks Matt.

Can I ask, how did you find the content ... more head spinning stuff or something a bit more definitive?

I'd say somewhere in them middle of those two, honestly-- and that's more because of the topic itself than your content. I don't know that blockchain will ever feel concrete to me, but this does a great job at trying to get there!

Thanks Matt. Appreciate the feedback. Blockchain has a long way to go. Personally, I do see blockchain technology being one of the enablers of future energy infeastrcutre, but it is not the answer to every problem. and it's got a lot of 'features' that need to be worked out. It's still in it's infancy.

We just published episode 2 - Hyve VS Reality - on what's going on with the tech these days ... it's not a tech deep dive, more an overview of how the tech is maturing.
