GridEx IV Focuses on Recovery from Cyber, Physical Security Events
The North American Electric Reliability Corp. is wrapping up the second and final day of a biennial exercise designed for utilities to simulate their response and recovery to cyber and physical security threats. It was only a few weeks ago that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI confirmed that many sectors within our nation's critical infrastructure, along with some government entities, repeatedly have encountered cyber attacks this year alone. The agencies acknowledged that the attacks had compromised some of the targeted networks. The GridEx initiative obviously is important and valuable. What are some of the other key actions you would like to see taken to better protect our electric grid?
