Trump's recently announced tariffs on imported solar panels will have impacts nationally but also regionally. In Texas those changes could be acutely felt as the state is one of the nation's leaders in installed solar capacity and forecasted solar growth. The Texas Solar Power Association's 2016 statistics show that around 9,396 people work in the solar industry and an increasing of 127 percent over a three-year time span. In the near term, the most forseeable impact is reduction in overall demand for solar which could put the brakes on job growth. What will the medium and longer-term impacts be?
