Nuscale Power Receives Phase 2 & 3 NRC Design Approval

Nuscale Power has invested nearly a billion dollars getting their standard small modular reactor (SMR) design partially through the NRC's regulatory process, more permitting is required.  Their first project is still several years in the future, but there are many promising signs.

Nuscale has significant support from major engineering and construction firms including Fluor, S&L and Doosan.

This advanced natural circulation cooling design could be the future of nuclear power.  The modules are built in a factory hopefully minimizing the construction delays that historically have plagued US nuclear plant construction.
