Nuclear pushes its role 'softening the blow to consumers' as cold snap enters week two
If it's possible to welcome a cold snap like the one we're experiencing, my former colleagues in the nuclear energy industry certainly do. Seeking to overcome recent power plant retirements, and with more slated, the industry is pointing to the ability of its facilities to continue putting electricity on the grid amid extreme weather conditions. Do you believe that efforts to buttress nuclear energy in New Jersey (legislatively) and at the national level (FERC rulemaking) will get a major boost from nuclear's resilience this winter?
