Denmark has made incredible headway in the world of wind power. From companies like Vestas that manufacture wind turbines to the country's energy mix that is now almost 44% wind-derived as of 2017. Denmark continues on its path to carbon neutrality. Without a doubt, 2017 was a record year for wind generation in Denmark. But in an odd twist, there are about 20% fewer wind turbines in Denmark today than in 2001, mostly due to how efficient wind turbines have become reducing their overall number, while output has increased.
