The United States set records for energy consumption, production, and exports in 2018, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIS). The United States produced 96 quadrillion British thermal units (quads), an 8% increase from 2017. This increase in production outpaced the 4% increase in U.S. energy consumption. Energy consumption reached a 101 quads. U.S. energy exports increased 18% to 21 quads in 2018. Do the numbers surprise you? What do you think they say about US energy policies?
