Power: the opportunity of inviting prices!

Power: the opportunity of inviting prices!

The deregulated power market in Brazil is currently offering very sexy long-term future prices.
There are three references that support this statement:

  1. Prices are substantially below regulated rates.
  2. Prices are well below marginal cost of the electricity sector's expansion
  3. Prices are much lower than short term prices.

If energy costs are important to your business or institutional activity, the time to close deals is right now!

I can't imagine anyone says no to reduced energy costs!

Of course Matt this is what comes to anyone's mind.

But... right now in Brazil companies and institutions do not have people available (in most cases) to evaluate these kind of opportunities and "make them happen". The stagnant economy (for years in a row) resulted in massive layoffs, especially at the higher echelons. The bottom line has become "no available intelligence" or even people who are so busy in their routines that they cannot afford to "go for it".

This explains how so many thousand companis are still regulated energy users even though they could migrate to the deregulate environment and capture significant savings.
