"Cidinho" and the Brazilian power sector
I bought a product on the internet. When the deadline was exhausted, I called the company and got the following explanation: "Look, Cidinho did not show up last week but he will deliver your order today."
Of course I do not know Cidinho and I do not care. With the electric power sector it's the same thing. We only have excuses:
- The power clearinghouse CCEE does settle as per the regulations
- The Demand Response program exists only on paper
- The theft of energy is shameful and summarily passed on to the rates
- The quality indicators are well below the established standards
There are no objective deadlines for these challenges to be solved. And most importantly: this has been going on for years!
The commanders of the institutions should be held accountable before the Brazilian Justice.
It is worth remembering that Brazil has the highest power rates among the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). It's high time to change from the Cidinho pattern to the competitive edge.
