Post Office to get greener fleet

The U.S. Postal Service announced that it will receive 1000 E-85 ethanol capable and 900 gasoline hybrid vehicles from the U.S. General Services Administration.

The 1,900 vehicles from GSA will bring the total number of alternative fuel-capable vehicles in the postal fleet to more than 43,000.

At nearly 220,000 vehicles, the postal service operates and maintains the largest civilian fleet in the country.
