Climate Change - When Time Runs Out

This paper lays out the case of why we are probably out of time to simply stop emitting greenhouse gases (not that this is easy), and probably need to start removing greenhouse gases (GHG) from the atmosphere, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2), in addition to stopping the emission of GHG by 2050. This paper also describes techniques for greenouse gas removal.

The best time to start addressing climate change is 20 years ago, the second best time is now. I agree with you that we're likely in the range where we need some negative carbon technologies, so it's good to see R&D funds being poured into those now (though that's no substitute for cleaning up energy/transportation sectors at the same time)
