We're almost two weeks into 2019, but that's still prime time for motivation and inspiration in the spirit of the New Year in my opinion!
Without a doubt. one of the best sources of such inspiration of the past few years have been TED talks delivered on any topic you can think of. Whether those are TED talks on how to self improve, build your business, or strengthen relationships, there's something for everyone who wants a pep talk, a new idea, and more. Luckily for us, clean power topics are also prominent in the annals of TED talks.
So with that, I wanted to pass on a few recommended TED talks for the clean power community to inspire the work you all do, spur creativity and inspiration, and motivate you to tackle your clean energy goals with gusto in 2019!
An important discussion of using consumer-driven electricity markets hand-in-hand with clean energy sources.
MacKay comes out and discusses the limitations of renewable energy sources in earnest detail, but then discusses the argument for forging ahead with them anyway. An important perspective.
Kubik talks about how important the energy storage sector is going to be to the transformation of the grid to more renewable energy sources.
By taking solar off grid, Inamdar shows how distributed generation can reduce costs in a way that revolutionizes the energy market and provides a boon to the environment.
Last, but obviously not least, well-known philanthropist and clean energy advocate Bill Gates discusses (almost a decade ago) his vision for an energy future, the need for miraculous advances in energy technology, and his vision for nuclear's role in that future. While old, it's impossible not to be drawn in by Gates and feel motivated that one of the world's richest and most famous business leaders is enthusiastically on the side of clean power.
