Get your skis shined up Colorado, there’s snow in the forecast this weekend. And this year several Colorado ski resorts are using renewable energy to get ready for your arrival. Arapahoe Basin’s snow-makers are now powered entirely by solar. Wolf Creek is using solar 100 percent to power their entire resort. This year Vail’s Blue Sky Basin was certified by Sustainable Travel international as the world’s first Sustainable Mountain Resort. Aspen’s Snowmass has installed solar panels at all four of its resorts and Breckenridge has a 100 percent renewable energy goal by 2035. Those are just a few of the resorts in Colorado committed to ‘sustainable slopes.’ The global initiative to address climate change doesn’t stop there. From Utah to Whistler, see who else is turning to renewables.
