SEWC Meets With Virginia Lawmakers About the Benefits of Wind Energy
Last week, the Southeastern Wind Coalition was able to travel to Richmond, Virginia to meet with state lawmakers to discuss the economic benefits that wind can bring to Virginia. We were able to meet with over ten lawmakers and their staff to talk about wind and the actions needed to ensure that Virginia capitalizes on the economic development opportunities associated with both land-based and offshore wind.
A fact sheet on wind energy in Virginia was developed for this trip to summarize key positive aspects of increased wind energy development. These benefits include potential capacity growth, job creation, and supply chain development. You can find the full fact sheet here: http://bit.ly/2FLvMu5.
