The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYERSDA) is providing the $1 million in funding for the 2.76MW solar PV array located six miles from Anheuser-Busch's brewery in Baldwinsville.
AES Distributed Energy owns and operates the solar PV installation, which was developed to support Anheuseer-Busch's efforts to purchase 100 percent of its electricity from renewable energy resources by 2025, according to a local news report. Renewables already supply 50 percent of its electricity from wind power.
The solar PV also will help New York achieve the goals of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Green New Deal, which includes renewable energy resources supplying 70 percent of electricity statewide by 2030.
