GTI Develops Novel Hybrid Solar Energy System
GTI, a research, development and training organization, built a hybrid solar collector that simultaneously generates electricity and high-temperature on-demand heat. The high-efficiency solar converter features a double-mirror design built to capture sunlight energy, which can be used for electricity or storable heat. How much interest does your firm have in hybrid systems? What do you see as their pluses and minuses?
A project team led by GTI to develop a hybrid solar collector that simultaneously generates electricity and high-temperature on-demand heat has met critical Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) project milestones.
