Google Now Matches 100% Of Its Power With Clean Energy
Google realized its 2017 goal of renewable energy resources powering its global operations.
Reaching the goal, the Alphabet subsidiary announced it had agreed to buy electricity from four wind power farms: one in Iowa, one in Oklahoma and two in South Dakota.
That brings the total amount of renewable energy the company has bought to 3.186 gigawatts - 2.397 GW of which is in the US.
That makes Google by far the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy. Amazon ranks second, having purchased 1.219 GW worth, Fortunre reports.
