The US will add 12.7 gigawatts (GW) in wind capacity in 2019, more than any other year except for 2012 when 13.3 GW was added, according to United States Energy Information Association (EIA). Both boosts were related to federal tax credits, which were set to expire in 2012 and now in 2019. Vendors scurry to complete projects before credits expire.
