New legislation in Maryland mandates that by 2030 that half of all energy comes from renewable sources. Gov. Larry Hogan didn't sign the bill -- because he thought it didn't go far enough (and wants to get to 100 percent renewable usage by 2040). These kind of laws may be well-meaning, but they often ignore a lot of realities that while less-green sources can be reduced, it's hard to eliminate them as much as believed.
