Not so fast. The inevitable push for increasing amounts of clean energy won't occur at a steady pace. In Indiana, lawmakers are hesitant about the pending closure of coal power plants because they want to have a backup plan in place in case renewable sources prove to be unreliable. This is a good topic for utilities to write about in their local op-ed pages, especially when there are unrealistic expectations for renewable sources.
