Harris Computer Systems ("Harris”) is proud to announce that the City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina has selected Advanced Utility Systems’ CIS Infinity to replace its legacy Customer Information System (CIS). The City of Rocky Mount is Advanced’s second client in North Carolina. The City of Rocky Mount is located in Northeast North Carolina and has a population of approximately 58,000. The City provides service to approximately 28,000 electric, 18,000 gas, and 24,000 water and wastewater customers all of which are billed on a monthly basis. The City of Rocky Mount began providing public utilities in 1899 with the initial establishment of a water system, which was followed by a wastewater system. In 1902, electric power was added as a service and a short time later Rocky Mount became the first city in North Carolina to operate its own gas system. The City is one of only three nationally recognized Reliable Public Power Provider Diamond Status award recipients. This award is given by the American Public Power Association to cities that are able to provide the highest degree of safe and reliable electric service.
“Advanced Utility Systems is very excited to partner with the City of Rocky Mount to implement CIS Infinity. CIS Infinity is designed to meet the needs of a multi-service utility. As a result, we believe that the City will be able to provide a higher level of customer service as well as improve the efficiency of their operations. Advanced and Rocky Mount will work together to ensure a successful implementation so that all of Rocky Mount’s customers can benefit from the investment in their new customer information system. We look forward to a long and successful partnership,” states Peter Fanous, General Manager for Advanced.
In addition to CIS infinity, the City of Rocky Mount will be implementing Infinity.Link – Advanced’s internet customer self-service and payment solution. Infinity.Link will allow the City of Rocky Mount’s customers to access their utility accounts 24 hours a day 7 days a week. From their account, customers can view and pay for their bills, review their billing and consumption history and access additional information. Implementation of CIS Infinity is scheduled to begin in April 2010.
