ScottishPower’s electricity maintenance teams are based “in the field,” surveying the overhead network by foot, and above by helicopter. Known as Asset Inspectors and Defect Clearance teams, they travel an extraordinary distance in order to keep tabs on the network infrastructure throughout the UK. A break in service could affect tens of thousands of people, homes and businesses. In order to efficiently check ScottishPower’s network, the ‘mobile’ maintenance teams need to have rugged tools to do the job that are as tough and reliable as the teams themselves.
