Radio-Automated Meter Reading System Meets GIS Route Management

State-of-the-art meters are equipped with radio frequency (RF) technology and are a part of an automated meter reading (AMR) network that integrates with GIS. The RF meter transmits to either a handheld, vehicle-based, or fixed receiver. GIS-enabled mobile units capable of reader meters synchronize an AMR with a GIS route management system, resulting in a comprehensive collection method for both meter and route management data.
