A municipally-owned utility for a large southwestern suburb must respond to a state mandate to reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses associated with electrical power generation. Forward-thinking city officials are adopting a plan to reduce peak power consumption and shift a portion of their electrical generation to renewable sources.
