Major policy conference to discuss how utilities will respond to the Obama administration's new push on climate change

AURORA, Colo. - Jan. 22, 2013 (News Release)

The Obama administration has declared climate change will be a top priority for the next four years. What policy changes should energy industry leaders expect from the current administration, and what will it take to gain bipartisan support for new policies for gas and fracking, clean coal, nuclear, renewables and energy efficiency?

Leading utility chief executive officers and national energy thought leaders will wrestle with those topics as hundreds of utility executives gather in Washington, DC for the 5th Annual EnergyBiz Leadership Forum (www.EnergyBizForum.com) March 18–19, 2013.

This year's theme, "Strategies for a Radically New Utility Universe" features a full agenda of keynote speakers, presentations and panel discussions. Held at The National Press Club, executives will have numerous opportunities to exchange perspectives on the global issues impacting utility industry performance and gain practical strategies to help companies adapt, innovate and thrive.

The agenda includes key topics like emerging technologies, innovation, political forecasting, finance and security. "Strategies for an Era of Big Shifts in National Policy" features leading energy authority Amory B. Lovins, Chairman and Chief Scientist at Rocky Mountain Institute, who will discuss the latest energy developments and how utilities can succeed despite governmental policy shifts. Yasushi Akahoshi, Minister, Embassy of Japan in the United States of America, will share strategies that U.S. utilities can learn from Asia's power grid buildout during "Learning from the Asia Revolution." General Jim Jones, former National Security Advisor and former Commandant of the Marine Corps, will discuss how the U.S. can better coordinate energy strategy, policy and security during his keynote address at the "State of Energy" dinner March 19.
