Prairie State Generating Company is focused on utilizing domestic coal resources to deploy clean generation technologies in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner, generating enough electricity to serve approximately 2.5 million families in eight states. PSGC began with 20 employees and five years later employs nearly 500 hourly, salaried exempt, and salaried nonexempt employees who work in a coal-fired generating plant and adjacent coal mine, as well as at corporate, administration, and training buildings situated within an eight-mile radius.
