Neptune Technology Group Inc. has deployed an innovative mobile solution at Allegheny Energy, a major energy company that owns and operates electric generating facilities and delivers electric and natural gas service to four million people in the US. Neptune Technology created a flexible mobile application called Fieldnet®. Fieldnet automates field service work including the collection of meter reading data, consolidates it and sends it to Allegheny Energy’s customer information system for bill generation. Using this application, more than 250 Allegheny Energy field employees using handhelds can quickly access and update information without having to worry about slow connections or loss of data integrity. Using FieldNet, Allegheny Energy has empowered a mobile workforce while reducing costs associated with administration, training, and IT infrastructure.
