Offered by the Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group, this course expands on previous ones offered by the organization to address issues related to solar generation connected to utility transmission and distribution systems. Featuring a faculty from Europe and North America, the course is targeted towards power systems engineering and management personnel from utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and independent transmission companies as well as consultants, manufacturers and developers involved with the evaluation and planning of the interconnection and operation of new variable generation plants. Regional planning entities, regulatory authorities, and policymakers will also benefit from this course.

Attendees will receive two texts - Wind Power in Power Systems, Editor: Thomas Ackermann, Publisher: Wiley & Sons, as well as Integration of Distributed Generation in the Power System, Math H. Bollen and Fainan Hassan, Publisher Wiley & Sons. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an optional tour of a local solar generation/storage installation.
