Ed has more
than 30 years collective experience in the electricity business
at Elster, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association,
Electric Power Research Institute, US Nuclear Regulatory
Commission and Tennessee Valley Authority.
Ed was
directly involved in drafting and lobbying for Smart Grid
provisions that are embodied in the Energy Independence and
Security Act of 2007; the tax provisions in 2002 and 2003 bills
that are the basis for the bonus depreciation provisions in the
Economic Stimulus Act of 2008; and the reduced tax life
provision for smart metering that was eventually embodied in the
Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. |

Steklac joined the Elster
Group with 20 years of metering and AMI experience, having held
various leadership positions in R&D, marketing and general
management for Schlumberger Industries, Energy and Utilities
businesses.
In 2003, Steklac founded
Enspiria Solutions, Inc. a consultancy and systems integrator
with a strong focus in energy management and operational
efficiency within advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), demand
response and smart grid.
