Utilities across the U.S. are spearheading innovative programs designed to reduce energy consumption and
help consumers budget their expenses. While such programs as Smart Meter, Demand Response, Budget Bill,
Low Income Assistance, and others could transform the way utilities serve their communities, educating
customers about the programs and getting them on board is proving to be a major hurdle.
Varolii surveyed 25 select executives from utilities across the country for the 2010 Utility Program Enrollment
Strategies Survey. This survey identifies which programs they’re currently running and the specific challenges
they face in getting customers enrolled.
