Hunt Power Receives First U.S. License of EnergyICT Technology Platform

MeterSmart, L.P. - 02.21.2006

Hunt Power, a preeminent provider of demand response and energy efficiency solutions, and EnergyICT, Europe's leading energy data collection and management systems provider, have formed a strategic alliance to deliver demand response solutions to utilities and end-use customers.

The EIServer/ComServer system from EnergyICT will replace Hunt Power's current MV-90 system and serve as the heart of its new demand response and meter data management offering.

"Integrating our respective technologies enhances our demand response and energy efficiency offerings, and gives us the ability to deliver comprehensive, turnkey programs with a full spectrum of capabilities," said Hugh Baker, president of Hunt Power.

"As a best of breed integrator, Hunt Power has licensed this robust infrastructure to provide dependable control and energy savings to utilities and their customers across the U.S.," said Bob Boscamp, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Hunt Power.

Developed over a 10-year period, EnergyICT's EIServer/ComServer is a comprehensive multi-vendor energy data collection and management software solution built on an Oracle(R) database with a modular, object-oriented Java architecture. It gives users maximum flexibility for their individual application.

"This new solution is a scalable, long-term technology choice that allows for seamless integration with other Hunt business systems," said Claude Godin, president of EnergyICT.

Hunt Power is also using EnergyICT WebRTU-Z1 and RTU+ hardware to build a real time pricing demand response program that includes main load and submetering, load forecasting, passive and active load control, multi-site aggregation and control and individual site peak shaving capabilities. Designed specifically to operate with modern communication mediums such as General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), this system offers end users a low cost enabling technology that meets the demands of a deregulated energy market, or simply allows users to get a better understanding of how energy is being consumed.
