Tesla is largely to blame for the slide in US home solar sales, report finds
Although residential solar installations have shown double-digit growth over the last few years, the numbers are expected to drop 13 percent this year, according to GTM's U.S. PV Leaderboard report. The report points to Tesla as the catalyst for these lower numbers after the Elon Musk company's purchase of Solar City last year. Solar City was the "biggest player" in the residential solar market, but under the Tesla umbrella, the company has slowed its advertising and marketing campaigns.
