Advanced Utility Situational Intelligence
The emergence of advanced situational and location intelligence capabilities, such as smart devices, intelligent sensors, global positioning systems and unmanned aerial vehicles to name a few are transforming the manner in which gas and electric utilities conduct business with their employees, suppliers, grid operators, design and as-built processes, work crews, customers, regulators and the like. One of the most sensitive aspects of advanced situational and location intelligence revolves around customer/employee privacy, data collection methods, security of the information being collected and the policies that utilities have in place as to who has access to the data and for how long. The placemat below was developed to help shape our thoughts for the next and final level 0 reference architecture project focusing on Enterprise Mobility for Utilities. Please advise us on how we can improve this blueprint or any other observations you would like to share. Thank you and regards.
