U.S. Investor-Owned Electric Companies to Deploy Nearly 1,500 Additional Restoration Workers and Support Personnel to Puerto Rico in Early January
The electric sector is intensifying efforts to restore power in Puerto Rico. The Edison Electric Institute reports that nearly 1,500 more restoration workers and support personnel will deploy to the island in early January. "These new crews will help to accelerate the restoration mission and to restore power safely and as quickly as possible for the people of Puerto Rico,” EEI President Tom Kuhn said. Hurricane Maria ripped through the island three months ago.
