Magnetohydrodynamic Electromagnetic Pulse Assessment of the Continental U.S. Electric Grid: Voltage Stability Analysis
This report is a continuation of a previous EPRI assessment that evaluated the potential for the geomagnetically induced currents generated by an electromagnetic pulse to damage bulk power transformers. EPRI's findings suggest that "voltage collapse due to E3 alone is possible for several of the target locations that were evaluated." What are your thoughts on an appropriate response to findings of this nature?
