Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell plans to cut its carbon emissions in half by 2050.
The company said it would cut carbon emissions by 20 percent by 2035 and reach the 2050 goal by increasing the use of biofuels, renewable energy, and investing in carbon capture and storage projects.
Shell plans to increase its spending on its clean-tech focused New Energies segment to $1 billion to $2 billion a year through 2020.
