Shell buying spree cranks up race for clean energy
Over the last few weeks, Royal Dutch Shell has spent over $400 million in a diversity of markets, from solar power to electric car charging points. Among those investments, they acquired British power company First Utility for $200 million in December. This and other recent acquisitions have many speculating that Royal Dutch Shell is evolving out of its gas and oil shell and into the future of clean energy.
